FIGMENT DC 2012 Recap

FIGMENT DC 2012 went down this weekend folks and I had a blast!...and everyone else that participated seemed to as well, which made me happy and made the late nights worth it all. The late nights weren't even necessary really...I'm just a procrastinator. I literally cannot do things far in advance. I need that pressure. Pressure makes diamonds lol. So about FIGMENT DC...If you missed what my project was, it was titled: ENVISAGE, which means to imagine possible future events, and it featured a community vision board and a "Frame of Mind" photo opp. I found out that a lot of people don't know what a vision board is lol, so I explained to them that it's a visual representation of your dreams/goals/aspirations meant to inspire you...and I also informed them if that was too much pressure, they can do whatever they wanted. I could tell by the look of some people's faces that was deeper than they wanted to go. They were like "man...I'm going to walk away, think about it, and then come back to this lol." The materials provided were paint, spray paint, stencils, stickers, sharpies, markers, sponges, and magazines & mod podge for collaging. The "Frame of Mind" portion was where people could take pictures in some stand-alone frames I built and decorated. It was a lot of fun, the weather was PERFECT, and I was informed on several occasions that I had the most popping spot haha. Unfortunately, since I couldn't leave my spot, I don't have a lot of pictures of the entire event at the moment, but that will be coming SOON!! I had one of my friends, the lovely and talented photographer Ashleigh Bing of Shoot Happens Photography, take some pics for me. I'm just going to update this post once I get them. For now, you can enjoy some pictures from ENVISAAAAAGE :)...  Oh and there was a costume project going on close to mine which explains some of the attire and accessories you will see lol.

...one of my friends made that for me :)

...Lol

I have preserved the artwork and cut it into smaller bite-size pieces lol...I'll let you know what will be happening with those very soon!!

Thanks to everyone that came out to the event, donated on Kickstarter, sent some encouraging words my way, and anything else I left out! I APPRECIATE YA!! I'm already planning what I'll be doing next year lol.

The End.
Stay Inspired.
