Creativity365 Day 46

Today's Instructions: Work with only music media: old CDs, records, cassettes, eight-track cartridges, or reel-to-reel tapes, and/or their cases.

So this week is music week...making it the best week everrrrrrrr!! Today, I'm going to show you how I made these cool CD coasters!!! These are going to get put to so much use.

If you're like me and you play your CDs to the death, you may have some that look like this :(...

I have no idea how they get like that...well, maybe a slight idea, but now I don't have to throw them away!!! I was really sad about that Amy Winehouse. I flew that in from overseas before Amy got popular in the United States...the most I ever paid for one CD lol. I couldn't find Frank anywhere over here. Anywho, now I can sit my drink on it lol. This was super easy...I know I say that all the time, but it really was.

Materials
  • CDs
  • Felt
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • White pencil

Instructions
1. Glue CDs together in a stack one by one. I made my stack four CDs thick. I also had a lot of CD-Rs that I messed up and never threw away and I also used some perfectly good blank ones. After gluing them together, I let them sit under something heavy for a couple of minutes to let the glue dry.

2. Trace a circle around a CD onto a piece of felt using your white pencil. Cut the circle out and glue it to the bottom of one of the stack of CDs you glued together in step one. I got these sheets of felt from A.C. Moore for 29 cents a sheet.

Aaaaand you're done!!

Stay Inspired.

  1. I loved the CD coaster idea! I have taken the liberty of posting this on Facebook – http://www.facebook.com/thelittlegreenpage – an online community to spread eco-awareness. Trust this is fine with you. Pravin Amudan
